Ward Game Calls is based out Mason County in
Topeka, IL. |
| Each duck and goose call
has been crafted by |
| by the owner, Jim Ward. As for the
owner, well, Jim grew |
| up outside of Mason County, near Manito,
Illinois, which |
| has some of the finest duck hunting in the
United States. |
| As a child, he loved hunting Ducks and
Geese. Jim was |
| in a single-parent household, by his father,
who worked |
| two jobs seven days a week, from daylight
till dark. To |
| entertain himself, while his father was at
work, Jim began hunting and fishing in a ditch that |
| ran through a section of their neighborhood,
near some grain fields. After his father returned |
| from work, he would bring home worms in the
summer and shells in the winter. His day use |
| tell him, “son your either going to drive me
broke buying Duck hunting stuff or the neighbors |
| going to run us out with you sneaking over
there shooting them Ducks.' But in reality the |
| neighbors never really said much. As a
boy, he hunted Ducks whenever possible, from jump |
| shooting, belly crawling, shooting over a
couple of crape paper decoys an old hunter gave |
| him, or lying in a snowdrift covered up with
a white sheet off a bed! |

| Later in life, as a long-haul semi driver,
he would stay out on the road for three to six months |
| at a time, so he could take off for the duck
and goose season. Finally, Jim was able to |
| purchase his own semi and trailer, so he
could take off more time to pursue his passion. |
| During his trips, he found that he had
endless hours with nothing to do, so, he took his calls |
| with him on the road. During this
time, he was able to master the Flute, Short Reed, and |
| Conventional Goose calls. As well as, the
Single and Double Reed Duck Calls and several |
| Whistle Calls. While driving across country,
he was able to meet a lot of people, hunt in |
| virtually about every hunting situation, and
hunt throughout the United States. |

| His father is from Lynn Arkansas, home of
the Rainey Brake hunting area. With a lot of |
| family from Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, he has
been blessed with some of the best Duck and |
| Snow Geese hunting in the world! In
1990, Jim began making his won calls and has sold |
| thousands on eBay. Traveling the road and
around his home are people would say to him, |
| “man that sounds great, make me one.” So,
in 1996, Jim sold his semi truck and trailer and |
| now makes calls and hunts Ducks
and Geese from Canada to Arkansas. |

To be able to witness his creations, perfect in every
detail.
I stand in awe of my Gods Power and Majesty.
It
is better to lead one person to salvation than all the
finest of Hunts!
